Decent event, some small issues

I participated in the E-Transpyr this year. The event itself was well-planned, and the routes were fantastic for an e-bike. The finisher jersey I received was good quality and true to size. However, I found the information regarding the charging stations for e-bikes could have been clearer in the pre-event emails. It required a bit of extra searching on my part. The photo pack I bought after the event had some great shots, but a few of my action photos were a bit blurry. Still, for the price of registration, it was good value, and the experience was mostly positive.

Well-organized event with good support

I registered for the C2C Road event back in October during the early bird period, which saved me a bit. The registration process itself was straightforward on their website. I opted for the hotel pack and luggage transport service, and both worked exactly as described. My bags were always at the next hotel when I arrived, and the hotels chosen were comfortable. I also rented a GPS, which was pre-loaded and reliable throughout the stages. Customer service responded within 24 hours when I had a question about my accommodation details a few weeks before the event. Overall, a very positive experience and everything was well-managed from start to finish.

Amazing Grand Raid experience!

I just completed the Grand Raid MTB event and it was incredible! The organization was top-notch, and the routes were challenging but beautiful. The mechanical support package I added on was a lifesaver. Definitely signing up for next year's Transpyr Coast to Coast, and I've already told my riding buddies they have to do it!

So, I'm thinking about the E-Transpyr. Is it really just for e-bikes, or can I sneak in with my regular road bike if I'm not super fast?

J Justin L. 1 month ago
Nah, the E-Transpyr is specifically for e-bikes, they have a separate category for that. You'd want to look at Backroads or C2C Road for a regular road bike.

Yeah, they're pretty strict about the categories. E-bikes in E-Transpyr, regular bikes in their own categories. It's to keep things fair.

Thinking of signing up with a couple friends. Is there any group discount or anything like that?

M Mary J. 1 week ago
Yup, they usually have group discounts! I think it's called 'pack familiar' or something similar. Check their registration page.

Yeah, if you're registering multiple people, they definitely offer group rates. Worth looking into before everyone signs up individually.

Is Transpyr like, super competitive? Or more of a 'finish line' type of event like Haute Route?

J James Carter 1 month ago
It's a bit of both honestly. Some people go all out for the race, but a lot of riders are just there to complete it and enjoy the experience. It's not as cutthroat as something like Cape Epic.

Definitely more of a personal challenge than a hardcore race for most. They track your times, but the vibe is generally pretty supportive.

Hey guys, thinking about doing the C2C MTB. Is there usually an early bird thing? Don't wanna miss out on a cheaper entry.

A Adam J. 2 days ago
Yeah, totally! They always do early bird registration. I signed up for Backroads last year and saved a good chunk. Just keep an eye on their site.

They pretty much always have early bird rates. It's usually like 10-15% off compared to later prices. Good way to save some cash.

How long does it typically take for the finisher jersey to ship to, say, California? Wondering if I'd get it before my next big ride.

J Jeff 1 week ago
Hmm, I'm not sure about California specifically, but when I ordered a cap to Texas it took about 2-3 weeks. Might be similar.

Mine took a while to get to the East Coast, maybe 3-4 weeks. International shipping can be slow sometimes.
